Functional description
The mixer consists of a main structure inclined at 15°, and a single arm to which the “DELTA” system is connected, also inclined at 15°.
This geometric combination generates a complex asymmetric movement of the product inside the BIN, ensuring high mixing efficiency even with “difficult” products.
All drives are electric; rotation is achieved through a right-angle geared motor with a self-locking electric motor. The base and safety cage are made of AISI 304 stainless steel with ground welds and a satin finish, fully compliant with GMP standards.
The dedicated BIN, equipped with wheels, is positioned onto the I-DELTA TUMBLER simply by approaching it to the DELTA system. Through a dedicated connection system, the BIN is secured in an extremely safe and fully automatic manner.
The operator sets the mixing parameters (time and speed) or loads a previously saved recipe via the HMI. Once the BIN is locked in place, the DELTA system lifts it and the BIN begins rotating with an acceleration ramp up to the set speed (min. 4 rpm, max. 20 rpm). At the end of the mixing cycle, the speed is gradually reduced through a dedicated deceleration ramp until the machine comes to a complete stop.
I-DELTA TUMBLER is equipped with a brake mounted on the main rotation motor, allowing the cage to stop in a vertical position.
- The system can be integrated with higher-level systems (MES, SCADA, etc.) or connected to a Host Computer via Ethernet card to send data or receive recipes from MES/SCADA systems. In this case, the communication protocol must be agreed upon with the customer.
- I-DELTA TUMBLER can be installed in a through-wall configuration.
POSSIBLE CUSTOM IMPLEMENTATIONS ON REQUEST:
Luperini offers the implementation of a dedicated adapter with Δ-System coupling mechanism, designed to allow the mixing of small BIN containers ranging from 1 to 100 liters directly on the I-ΔTUMBLER mixer.
This exclusive technical configuration provides unmatched production flexibility, as the I-ΔTUMBLER can efficiently handle BIN containers from 1 up to 2200 liters, ensuring:
- Maximum operational flexibility, unmatched on the market;
- Significant savings in BIN container acquisition costs;
- Excellent mixing performance, fully aligned with Luperini’s high-quality standards.
Production flexibility can be further increased by integrating a dedicated drum-mixing adapter. Thanks to the Δ-System adapter, the machine can handle drums with capacities from 1 to 450 liters, significantly extending the system’s operational versatility.

ADVANTAGES
SAFETY
- Designed to prevent any risk of container falling, even in the event of clamping jack failure;
- Stable machine with excellent weight distribution;
- Continuous monitoring of BIN clamping force through load cells connected to the PLC;
- Data transmission separated from power transmission and managed wirelessly (SIEMENS) to eliminate any possible signal interference.
VERSATILITY
The I-TUMBLER is designed to maximize investment value and respond quickly to an increasingly demanding market.
Each mixer is built using standardized materials and features configurations that allow conversion from one series to another with minimal investment. For example, converting an I-TUMBLER 1200×1200 600Lt – 1500Lt-capable of mixing containers from 600 to 1500 L-, into a 1200×1200 600Lt – 2200Lt series -capable of handling 600 to 2200 L containers-, only requires replacing a few mechanical components and adjusting certain software parameters. This process takes approximately 5–6 days of machine downtime.
EFFICIENCY
- Advanced and user-friendly software;
- Carefully engineered mechanical design with visual inspection systems for wear-prone components;
- Spare parts and documentation management through dedicated software;
- Dedicated 3D software for spare parts ordering, machine management, and personnel training (OPTIONAL).
DURABILITY
Built to last: every mixer in the I-TUMBLER line is designed to protect the machine’s mechanical components. The transmission unit features a right-angle geared motor with reduced backlash; the main shaft is manufactured from hardened material, while the drive area undergoes a special treatment to prevent wear.
Additionally, each mixer is designed with a carefully studied center of gravity, reducing stress on all mechanical components during operation and ensuring long-term durability.
